The Great Compassion Journey

28 October 2025

Southeast Asia (Part of the Vietnam–India route)

Upcoming Event: The Great Compassion Journey — Walking the Path: A Short Pilgrimage for a Simple Life

This guided and challenging pilgrimage is designed for lay practitioners seeking a deep, experiential immersion into the lifestyle of Buddhist monks. Inspired by the recent simple walk of Master Minh Tue and his group, this journey offers an intense opportunity to cultivate mindfulness, self-discipline, and community while traveling.

The Experience

Participants will commit to a demanding, short segment of the pilgrimage, fully adhering to the core Dhutanga practices through:

  • Simple Accommodation: Resting in basic conditions, not in standard commercial lodging.
  • Mindful Trekking: Covering substantial distances daily, focusing on present-moment awareness.
  • Renunciation of Possessions: Limiting personal belongings to the absolute bare minimum required.

A fundamental component of this journey is dedicated social engagement. The group will pause to execute a compassionate service project benefitting a local community — illustrating how the practice of renunciation ultimately fuels selfless action. This trip is an invaluable opportunity to internalize the profound values of contentment and humility that form the foundation of lasting peace.

Enrollment

Due to the specialized nature of this experience, space is strictly limited. Join the waitlist immediately to secure the detailed itinerary, mandatory reading list, and comprehensive preparation guides.
